Today's list:
• taking a break from the news
• wintry Vermont woods
Today's not so tough for me. I hate the news. Taking a break from it is something I do often, and for weeks at a time. The news just breaks my heart. I can't stand hearing about some of it, and it ends up depressing me for hours. And lace? Not my thing. I'm also not much for trying exotic fruit ... I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to trying new foods. And I think I've established I don't like winter much, so I won't go for the wintry Vermont woods.
That leaves me with wild bird calls. I do enjoy bird sounds. I can sit and listen to them for quite some time. I try to imagine what it is they're saying to each other ... I can get caught up in that, and watching them, for a long time before getting bored. So that's my favorite of the day. Wild bird calls.
What's your favorite?

I'm not really into wild bird calls. Taking a break from the news is either or. Delicate swirls of lace doesn't do it for me. Trying exotic fruit might be nice, but I think wintry Vermont woods would be the best (even tho I've never been to Vermont).
Woods win!
I love ducks laughing, but I'm a sucker for exotic-fruit-trying. We took our honeymoon in Fiji, and one of my favorite things was to take the local bus into town and pick up some weird fruits at the open market.
Wintry Vermont woods.. but inside a cozy cabin with a roaring fireplace :)
I have to take a break from the news too! I think it makes one grouchy watching so much.
I'm going with the birds too. Well, with the exception of them making rackets early in the morning when I'm sleeping. ;-)
Do birds joke?
Wild bird calls for me...maybe in a those wintry Vermont woods. And I'd sing along with the birds, too.
