Speaking of Lyrics

Sometimes the funny parts of lyrics is not singing the wrong ones, but not understanding the right ones.

Not long ago, Sarah (14-years old) was listening to some music in her headphones. She was apparently listening to "Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2. She was talking about a specific part of the song where they sing:

And the battles just begun
Theres many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart

She said, "That's sad."

AJ (13-years), not very likely to think metaphorically, took it quite literally, and said in horror, "Sad? That's SICK!"

Poor kid had probably been picturing something disturbing for quite some time every time he heard about mothers, children, brothers, and sisters being "torn apart".

It's amazing listening to some lyrics that are written. Some are very powerful.

I love U2's lyrics, they are quite hard to listen to at times though.
